What to Wear?

  • Plan your outfits ahead of time.
  • Make sure clothes are clean, ironed, and dry—wrinkles show in photos.
  • Wear clothing that complements your body and makes you feel comfortable and confident.
  • Choose outfits that reflect your personality; no need to be perfectly matching.
  • Opt for timeless colors like khaki, pastels, and soft muted tones.
  • Avoid neon colors, large prints, and logos—they can be distracting.
  • Consider how your outfit colors will fit with your home’s color scheme (if you’ll display the photos).
  • For beach sessions, expect wind—pin your hair back or use products to keep it off your face.
  • I do not edit stray hair out of photos due to time constraints.
  • Empty your pockets; anything inside will show up in pictures.

Prepping Your Children

  • Tell your kids where the photo shoot will take place.
  • Let them know how long the session will last.
  • Explain what you expect from them during the shoot.
  • Frame the session as a fun event they can look forward to.
  • Encourage creativity and playfulness during pictures.
  • Consider offering a treat or special family activity afterward as a reward.
  • Understand that photoshoots can feel strange or stressful for kids, especially with a stranger behind the camera.
  • Avoid pressuring or scolding kids—it won’t help them relax.
  • Trust the photographer’s expertise to help your children warm up to the session.
  • The less you worry, the better the photos will turn out.
  • Let your family’s true personalities shine naturally—don’t force poses.
  • Make sure kids are well-fed and rested before the shoot.
  • Bring snacks if needed, but avoid messy or stain-causing foods (e.g., lollipops).
  • Above all, let’s make this a joyful experience capturing your children’s unique personalities.
